6 weeks ago a drive up Ashland Avenue (or down Richmond) was demoralizing. Virtually every tree had been brutalized during the October Storm, like an amputee ward in a Civil War veterans hospital immediately after battle.
6 weeks later the beauty has started to return. Enough leaves, and new branches, have sprung up to hide much of the worst damage. There are still some pretty unshapely trees, and the natural canopy that was formed by those branches that reached across the street is gone, but at least the street is starting to look a little more normal again.
